As people start using voice message more and more, apps like WhatsApp have to improve the experience their service provides.
Initially introduced in 2013, the WhatsApp voice message service hasn’t grown too much, despite its growing user base.
Today, WhatsApp announced plans to improve the voice messaging experience on its platform with the addition of several nifty features:
Playback Outside Chat
Listen to voice messages outside of chat so you can multitask or read and respond to other letters.
Pause/Resume Recording
While recording a voice message, you can now pause the recording and resume when ready if you’re distracted or need to collect your thoughts.
Waveform Visualization
Displays a visual representation of the voice on the voice message to help follow the recording.
Preview Draft
Listen to your voice message before sending it.
Remember Playback
If you pause while listening to a voice message, you can continue from where you left off when you returned to the chat.
Fast Playback on Forwarded Messages
Play voice message at 1.5x or 2x speed for faster message listening on both regular and forwarded messages.
While these new features may not be available to everyone immediately, WhatsApp announced they will be rolling out to users in the coming weeks.
So be patient if you haven’t seen it on your phone.
